Registered Social Landlords
This section provides information on registered social landlords ("not-for-profit" organisations) which provide affordable housing in the Borough.
The Council does not own any affordable housing or "council housing" itself. All affordable housing in the Borough is now provided by Registered Social Landlords (Housing associations).
Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) are "not-for profit" organisations providing affordable housing; they are monitored and regulated by the Housing Corporation.
In the Council's area there are approximately 6,000 affordable rented homes.
The Council is able to "nominate" households on its Housing Register to these Registered Social Landlords. Some of the RLSs also have their own waiting list.
Over twenty RSLs have homes in the Borough, however, in some cases the number are very small.
There are also a number of specialist RSLs operating in the Borough.
The following large RSLs each have over 50 properties in the Borough, and with the exception of Reigate & Banstead Housing Trust, all have properties throughout the south east of England.
