Update on bin collection problems
We have recently been experiencing some difficulties in providing our normal timely service for the refuse, garden waste and recycling collections and a number of collections have not been made, on their normal day.
This has not been due to one single cause but rather a number of different problems including a number of mechanical breakdowns, blocked access due to parked vehicles and road restrictions because of maintenance works.
Late collections are being conducted on the next working day but we apologise for any inconvenience that these delays are causing.
The Council is due to take delivery of two new trucks in the very near future which should enable us to elimate these reliability problems.

Love Food Hate Waste campaign
The Love Food Hate Waste campaign from WRAP (website opens in new window) aims to raise awareness of the need to reduce food waste.
The campaign shows that by doing some easy practical everyday things in the home we can all waste less food, which will ultimately benefit our purses and the environment too.
