Licensing consultation

The Borough Council is committed to consulting with our residents on a variety of issues. This section provides information about the Council's licensing consultation.

Consultation Overview

Licensing laws were due to be changed with the Council assuming responsibility for licensing: outlets that sell alcohol and premises that sell take -away food between 11pm and 5am.

In order to do this the Council produced a draft licensing Policy

Why did we consult?

The Council's Licensing Policy aims to show how it intends to carry out the new licensing functions with a view to promoting the objectives which the Government has set out:

Local residents, businesses, existing license holders and statutory agencies.

Mid July to Mid September 2004.
