Park 25 consultation
The Borough Council is committed to consulting with the community on a wide range of issues. The consultation was about plans to allow housing to be built on part of the Park 25 industrial estate in Redhill.
Consultation overview
The Council considered allowing part of an industrial estate which is not being used by businesses to the given over to a housing development.
Who consulted?
Reigate and Banstead Borough Council - Policy and Community Initiatives Section.
Why did we consult?
The land is allocated for employment, but despite having planning permission it failed to attract any commercial tenants.
The Council is therefore proposing the site for housing development.
This accords with Government advice and will help to meet the Council’s housing targets without using “greenfield” or Green Belt land.
Views were requested on the Development Brief which could then provide the Council with a basis to consider a planning application recently submitted for the site.
Who was consulted?
Technical and service agencies were consulted by letter.
Residents close to the site received a hand-delivered leaflet alerting them to a local exhibition at the Marketing Suite, St. Anne’s Drive, Redhill.
When did the consultation take place?
The exhibition was open from 9 August to 11 September between 9am and 9pm.
