Department for Education and Skills
This page contains information about grants from the Department for Education and Skills.
The Department for Education and Skills aims to give children an excellent start in education, enable young people to equip themselves with life and work skills, and encourage adults to achieve their full potential through learning.
Dealing with areas relating to education, lifelong learning and training, there are 3 main objectives:
- To give children an excellent start in education so that they have a better foundation for future learning.
- To enable all young people to develop and to equip themselves with the skills, knowledge and personal qualities needed for life and work.
- To encourage and enable adults to learn, improve their skills and enrich their lives.
The department works in close partnership with schools, employers, training providers, colleges /universities, local authorities and other Government Departments. We have an exciting programme of new policies and measure our progress and success against objective targets.
