Surrey Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for firefighting and many safety issues in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead.
The SFRS has 17 full-time fire stations across the county. The local fire station is

which has 2 fire engines.
The firefighters
Reigate fire station is crewed 24 hours a day. Personnel are employed on a continuous shift basis, divided into four watches - R ed, White, Blue, Green.
Wholetime firefighters work a 42 hour week which is made up of 9 hour day duties and 15 hour night duties. Each watch has a shift pattern of 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off duty (rota days).
Educating the public
The SFRS aims to do much more than firefighting, and works hard with others to make Surrey a safer place to live, work and do business.The service also aims to raise awareness among the most vulnerable people in order to reduce the suffering caused by fires and other emergencies.
Countywide
Surrey Fire & Rescue Service looks after a population of approximately 1,040,000 covering an area of 1,676 square kilometres.
Overall they have a total of 24 fire stations, strategically sited throughout the county, including 17 full-time fire stations and 7 part-time fire stations.
