Borough Local Plan 2005

This section explains the content of the Borough Local Plan 2005, part of the development plan for the Borough.

The Borough Local Plan 2005 was published in September 2006, including an updated version of the Proposals Map. It is formed from the First Alteration adopted on 7 April 2005, combined with the unaltered parts of the 1994 Borough Local Plan adopted on 21 July 1994. The combined document was subject to minor updating and editorial changes, which did not materially affect the content of the proposals, prior to publication.

Please note this  Errata Sheet (93.2kB) shows any errors that have been noticed since the plan was published, and there is a Policy Status Update including information on saved policies.

Prior to the publication of the Borough Local Plan 2005, all the policies and maps were found in a number of different documents as work on the First Alteration progressed. For reference only, some of the information from the various drafting stages is still available on the website - any references to historic information mean that it has been replaced by the Borough Local Plan 2005.

1994 Borough Local Plan (for historical information only)

The 1994 Borough Local Plan is available to download by chapter and by each of the sheets of the Proposals Map (North, Central, South, and Town Centre Insets).

First Alteration (for historical information only)

To help ascertain whether policies in the 1994 Plan formed part of the review and have thus been superseded by the First Alteration, there is a derivation schedule of those policies included in the Alteration.

The First Alteration, as adopted, comprises the Revised Deposit Draft 2000 incorporating the Proposed Modifications 2004.

The information which made up the Proposals Map to accompany the First Alteration can be found in the following places.

There is:

• December 1999 - Deposit Draft (South Sheet and Horley Town Centre Inset)
• Revised Deposit Draft - Appendix 3: Other Proposed Alterations to the Proposals Map
• Revised Deposit Draft - Appendix 4: Nature Conservation Sites and Maps
• Revised Deposit Draft - Appendix 5: Proposed Changes to Proposals Map    

which all formed part of the Revised Deposit Draft.
