This section is intended to help people looking for information about the Horley Design Guide Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
This SPD contains extra guidance mainly for those preparing planning applications for the new neighbourhoods in Horley, regarding the form, layout, character and quality of development. This guide supplements the more general guidance in the Borough-wide Local Distinctiveness Design Guide published in 2004.

Consultation
All Supplementary Planning Documents are subject to formal public consultation.
Sustainability Appraisal
All SPDs are subject to Sustainability Appraisal (SA). The SA was carried out on the draft Horley Design Guide SPD and recommendations were made.
After the SPD was revised, a Sustainability Appraisal Statement was produced to show how the recommendations made in the SA report were taken into account.
