This section provides information about Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) on shop front and shop sign design.
Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) is produced by the Borough Council to provide extra guidance on and the interpretation of Local Plan policies.
The SHOP FRONT AND SHOP SIGN DESIGN GUIDE was adopted on 26th October 2000.
Its purpose:
- To explain the elements of a shopfront;
- To provide guidelines for the design of new shopfronts and advertisements.
It is important that proposals reflect the architectural character of the building and the appearance of the street scheme.
