New national planning application process – consultation on information lists
This page is about the introduction of a new national planning application form and the consultation on the draft national and local lists of information required to validate applications.
From 6 April 2008, the Government will introduce a national standard planning application form.
The standard form will replace all current local planning authority forms and will be mandatory for all types of planning, listed building, conservation area, advertisement, tree works, certificates of lawfulness, and prior notification applications. It will also be able to be used for submission of conditional details.
New application form
The electronic version of the standard application form is available on the Planning Portal website at www.planningportal.gov.uk, and PDF versions will shortly be available for download from the Planning Application forms page. Paper versions are available from the Town Hall, Reigate.
While existing local application forms will continue to be accepted up to 6 April 2008, the Council is now accepting applications using the new standard application forms, and applicants are encouraged to use the new format.
New information requirements
In conjunction with the standard application form, there will be new information requirements for the validation of applications. The information required to validate each type of application will set out in two lists:
- a national list, which sets out the minimum statutory requirements;
- a local list, which sets out additional requirements for information dependant on the circumstances of the site and proposed development
A draft copy of the national and local list for all application types is available to download below, together with advice on when the local list information will be required.
