Horley Shopfront Design Guide SPG
This section provides information about Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) on shopfront design.
Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) is produced by the Borough Council to provide extra guidance on and the interpretation of Local Plan policies.
The Horley Shopfront Design Guide was adopted on 26 October 2000.
Purpose
- to outline recent problems with shopfront and signs in Horley
- to detail how to harmonise shopfronts with the age and design features of the rest of the building
- to set out principles to achieve good quality shop signs
- to consider other issues affecting shopfronts, including blinds, security and disabled access.
Key message
- careful attention to detail and the enhancement of the image of the shops in Horley will contribute to the promotion of a high quality town centre environment.
