East Surrey Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA)

Strategic Housing Market Assessments (SHMA) help local authorities to understand their local housing markets and assist them in developing their planning and housing policies, particularly policies for affordable housing

Reigate & Banstead Housing Market Update Report 2012

The East Surrey Strategic Housing Market Assessment assessment was carried out in 2008 (see below). The Council commissioned David Couttie Associates (DCA website) to undertake an update of the Strategic Housing Market Assessment for the Reigate and Banstead local authority area in February 2012.

The update report looks at a number of key factors, including: the supply and demand for housing; housing and planning policies; the need for affordable housing; and the affordability of the local housing market.

East Surrey SHMA Update Report 2009

Due to the onset of the economic downturn, the four authorities developing the East Surrey Housing Strategy 2009-13 (PDF document [1.4Mb]) commissioned an update of the key statistics in the East Surrey Strategic Housing Market Assessment which was completed in June 2009. These updated statistics were used as part of the evidence base for the East Surrey Housing Strategy 2009-13.

The updated statistics cover Epsom & Ewell Borough Council, Mole Valley District Council, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and Tandridge District Council.
