Planning Portal
This page provides information about the Planning Portal and a link to the site, where you can complete a planning application form online.
Thanks to a partnership with the government-sponsored website called the Planning Portal, the council is able to offer you a service where you can fill in an application form from your computer.
If you click on the link at the foot of the page you will be taken to the Planning Portal. If you have not used the Planning Portal before we strongly advise that you read this page carefully before you clicking on the link.
Before you use the Planning Portal
Planning agents/developers
The Planning Portal and the Borough Council are holding workshops for planning agents and developers who make regular planning applications to the Council. Please email planning@reigate-banstead.gov.uk if you would like to be included in one of these workshops.
Also, please be aware that you cannot use the Planning Portal for large scale planning applications affecting more than 10 properties. If your application concerns more than 10 properties please download application forms and send the application by post.
The general public
Before you begin completing an online application the Council strongly recommends that you read the relevant advice about design statements, and if you are making an application relating to your home, our householder advice.
After you have completed your online planning application, you will receive notification the from Planning Portal.
Paying fees for your online applications
Online at the Planning Portal - from Tuesday 29 September 2009
You can pay online through the Planning Portal when submitting you planning application. There is a maximum amount of £5,000 that can be paid online. The Portal uses WorldPay’s secure internet payment Engine. You can pay using any of these cards:
- Delta
- Master Card
- Maestro
- Visa
- Visa Electron
- JCB.
By cheque
If you prefer, please send in a cheque for the amount quoted on the Planning Portal to:

Refunds
If we find that an overpayment has been made we will refund the amount overpaid to the person who originated the payment. Refunds will be made either by cheque or electronically if this method was used to submit the application. Once the planning application has been validated no refund will be made.
