Building Control charges

This page is about the schedule of charges that we publish.

The charges are laid out on a schedule of charges that are published by the Borough Council and are advertised when varied. 

Building regulation charges effective from Jan 4 2011

 The fee charging system is controlled by legislation. 

Please note, this authority can only accept payment by cheque. 

Your records

All applications and notices that are received will receive a written acknowledgment of receipt.

Also, Full Plans applications will receive:

  • Full Approval Notice, Conditional Approval Notice or Rejection Notice
  • Completion Certificate.     

Building Notices will receive:

  • an acknowledgement letter that may also contain advisory notes
  • Completion Certificate.     

Re-submission after three years

Please note, Full Plan Approval and Building Notices are valid for three years and will thereafter require a re-submission based on the regulations in force at that time.

Regularisations applications will receive:

  • Completion Certificate stating the parts that comply.     

Reversions will receive:

  • Completion Certificate.     

It is important that one retains all records as these will be asked for by:

  • Conveyancing solicitors
  • Banks or Building Societies.
