Donyngs sports hall closed for improvements
Donyngs sports hall will be closed from the 13 August to 9 September 2012 for improvements.
The improvements include:New T5 energy efficient lighting to improve visibility in the sports hall for people playing sports. It will also reduce energy costs and make the lighting easier to maintain.
A new sports hall floor made from sprung timber (Junkers floor) to meet modern sporting requirements
New floor markings for five-a-side football, badminton and basketball
Rebound boards used to split the hall are also being replaced.
During the closure period there will be no circuits, badminton, five-a-side football, basketball or any courses. The rest of the leisure centre is open as normal.
Modernising facilities
Councillor Adam De Save, Executive Member for Leisure, said: “The Council is committed to helping residents live healthy and active lives.
"As well as significantly improving and modernising the sports hall for existing customers, we also want Donyngs to attract new users and clubs.
"I hope that the improved facilities will make Donyngs even more popular with local people.”
Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and GLL have chosen this time of year to make the improvements because it is the quietest. We apologise for any inconvenience they may cause our centre users.
The improvements to the sports hall follow the £4.1million refurbishment of the rest of the centre last year.
