Harlequin Theatre manager nominated for prestigious award
Tom Kealey, the Manager of the Harlequin Theatre in Redhill, has been shortlisted for the Theatre Manager of the Year Award.
The Theatre Manager of the Year is one of the theatre industry’s most prestigious awards and recognises achievements made in programming, marketing and management.
Nominations for the annual awards, run by theatre publication Encore, are made and voted for by industry peers.
Delighted
Tom said: “I’m delighted to be nominated for such a prestigious award. What makes it so special is that these awards are both nominated and voted for by the industry. But this would not have been possible without the great team we have at the Harlequin ”
Strength to strength
Cllr Dorothy Ross-Tomlin, Chairman of the Harlequin Board, said: “Tom’s nomination for this award is testament to the excellent job he does. The theatre has gone from strength to strength under his management.”
Tom has been manager of the Harlequin since December 1998.
He is one of three theatre managers nominated for the Theatre Manager of the Year Award and the winner will be announced at a special awards ceremony on Wednesday 12 May at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon.
The awards also celebrate the Producer of the Year, Gaffer (Tech. Manager) of the Year, Showguide of the Year, Outstanding Services to Variety (The Roy Castle Trophy), Children’s show Producer of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
