Priory Park Community Festival back for 2010 (1 Mar 2010)
Following the success of last year’s Priory Park Community Festival, the event is returning on Saturday 26 June 2010.
Organised by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council in partnership with local community group the ‘Reigate Events Collective’, the event promises to be free, fun-packed day out for people of all ages featuring:
- community, craft and information stalls
- fun activities for children
- traditional fairground rides
- conservation activities
- a youth zone
- live music
- a variety of food and drink stalls

Armed Forces Day
Like last year, the Festival will incorporate the Council’s event to mark Armed Forces Day, which honours our Forces past, present and future.
It is hoped local TA Units, Veterans and Cadet Corps will entertain the crowds with a whole host of activities and demonstrations.
Get involved
Cllr Adam De Save, Executive Member for Leisure and Wellbeing and Ward Member for Reigate Central, said: "We had a great turnout for last year’s Community Festival so we have decided to put on the event again this summer. This time, members of the Reigate Events Collective are working with us to organise the event.
“We are planning a host of activities in the park throughout the day, including entertainers, community stalls and conservation activities, so there will be something for everyone.
"We are still in the early stages of planning so we are keen to hear from anyone involved with a local community group, charity or local business that is interested in having a stall; performers who would like to take part; or if you would like to volunteer to help with the event, please get in touch."

Reigate Events Collective
Reigate Events Collective was set up by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council last year (2009) in response to consultation carried out as part of the Council’s Reigate Town Centre Local Community Action Plan (LCAP), which revealed that people would like to see more happening in the town.
An action was included in the plan for the Council to assist in the development of a local voluntary events forum that could run and promote events in the future.
The Collective now has eight members, with a variety of different skills from design, to experience in running events, theatre management, fundraising, charity work and marketing.
Reigate Central ward members Cllr Adam De Save and Cllr Steve Farrer pledged their £1,000 Councillors’ Community Awards to setting up the scheme.
