Honorary Alderman John Henry Prevett OBE
We are saddened to announce the passing away on Sunday 31 January 2010 of Honorary Alderman John Henry Prevett OBE.
John Prevett served on the former Reigate Council from 1963 to 1969 and 1971 until 1974. He served on Reigate & 
Banstead Borough Council since its inception in 1974 until 1984 and then from 1986 until 2006.
He was our Mayor for the 1998-1999 Municipal Year.
Honorary Alderman
In July 2006 the council conferred the title of Honorary Alderman on John Prevett in appreciation and acknowledgement of his eminent services to the borough and its predecessor and as an expression of high esteem in which he was held.
Funeral arrangements
The funeral will take place on Wednesday 17 February 2010 at midday. It will be at the United Reform Church, Shaw's Corner, Redhill.
