Star for a Night 2012 took place at the Harlequin Theatre on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 April 2012. The theme of this year's show was the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic Games .
Around 70 young people took part in the show having rehearsed hard for the past 12 weeks. The show was a variety show with dance numbers, short drama sketches and wonderful singing! The show was a wonderful success with some stunning performances from the young cast.
Support local young talent!
The show was once again sponsored by Toyota GB plc and Towers Watson and we are very grateful for their continued support which enables all the rehearsals to be free to the participants.
In addition local theatre school So You Wanna Be awarded 2 1 year scholarships worth around £750 each to 2 of the most committed members of the cast. The scholarships were awarded to Louis Pierce (Dancer) aged 11 and Natalia Haddock (Musical Theatre) aged 15. Both Louis and Natalia had show commitment, drive, hard work and enormous talent and should be very proud of themselves. We hope they enjoy and learn from their year at the So You Wanna Be Performing arts school.
A DVD of the show is being produced and will be available in 4-6 weeks. If you would like to order a copy - price £10 - please contact Leisure Services - leisure.services@reigate-banstead.gov.uk
