Priory Park surveys
The survey told us what you think about Priory Park's restoration and enhancement.
Major work on the project, to restore and improve the park, was completed in June 2008 and with the exception of some areas that remained fenced, to allow them to mature, users of the park have been able to enjoy both the restored and new features that include the Pavilion, Sunken Garden, Monks Walk, Ball Play and Skate Area.
Planting in the borders along the pavilion lawns and Monks Walk produced a colourful display throughout the summer.
The Café, in the Pavilion, and Children's Play Area, in particular the sand and water features, proved to be a great success and the summer months saw many families and individuals having fun playing and relaxing.
The park is now more inviting with the pavilion lawns available to picnic and enjoy the views of the wider park landscape.
Walking around the park is much easier on the new layout of paths making it more comfortable for visitors with prams or buggies and those with disabilities, allowing access from the entrances to the park, around the lake and the main core of facilities.
New furniture, strategically placed, enables visitors to stop and rest at various points along the paths.
