Fishing
This section provides information on fishing and where you can fish locally.
As an angler it is most important for you to know that anyone aged 12 years or over who fishes for salmon, trout, freshwater fish or eels in England and Wales must have an Environment Agency rod licence.
A rod licence is a statutory requirement (in other words it is required by law) and entitles the licensee to use a rod and line to fish. Rod licenses are issued by the Environment Agency. Rod licences can be purchased from any Post Office in England and Wales. They can also be purchased online from Fishing (Environment Agency website).
All fishing rights on Council owned waters are leased to the Horley Piscatorial Society. If you are not a member you need to purchase a season ticket. Details can be obtained from the numbers given below.
