What's on this season at The Harlequin

It’s another season jam packed with a huge variety of entertainment for everyone!

The Harlequin Theatre continues with a commitment to providing the very best in Event Cinema, with Live and Recorded productions from: The National Theatre, English National Opera, Royal Shakespeare Company, the Bolshoi Ballet and also we pose the question “To see or not to see?” by showing a critically acclaimed Manchester Theatre production of Hamlet, starring Maxine Peake.

Our musical highlights include, Julian Lloyd Webber, Folk Rock legends Steeleye Span, and Midge Ure! Midge is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his platinum selling album “Breathe” Expect to hear the entire album mixed in with classic Ultravox (Vienna, Dancing with tears in my eyes) and other solo hits including “If I was”.

Live comedy ramps up this season with performances from Henning Wehn, Jethro, Richard Herring and the Harlequin’s favourite Canadian “Glam Role Model” Katherine Ryan

We haven’t forgotten about family entertainment... this season you can experience productions of Red Riding Hood, The Sword in the Stone and How the Koala learned to hug. Chanel 5’s Milkshake live team will be performing in June and our Family entertainment listings also contain our Theatre Manager’s highest recommendation..... Sing-a-Long-a Frozen!

“I’ve already got my tickets and I’ll be warming up the vocal chords for Let it go!” - Elizabeth Smith – Theatre Manager

Audio Described Screenings

An audio described performance is a standard screening ideal for visually impaired people. It works by playing a recorded narration, explaining what's happening on screen, during gaps in the dialogue, through personal headphones.
