Pages in Development Management Plan
The Reigate & Banstead Development Management Plan (DMP) was submitted to the Secretary of State for Local Government on 18 May 2018 and will now be subject to an independent examination by a Planning Inspector.
As explained in paragraph 182 of the National Planning Policy Framework, the Inspector’s role is to assess whether the plan has been prepared in accordance with legal and procedural requirements (including Duty to Cooperate between public bodies) and whether it is “sound” (whether the plan is justified, effective, consistent with national planning policy and positively prepared).
A Programme Officer, Mr Chris Banks of Banks Solutions, has been appointed to organise and manage the administration and procedural matters of the examination process on behalf of the appointed Inspector. He will act as the liaison between the Inspector, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and representors. The Programme Officer is an independent officer, has no involvement with the preparation of the Development Management Plan and reports directly to the Planning Inspector.
The Programme Officer will also contact all those who responded to the publication of the Proposed Submission DMP at the Regulation 19 stage to provide further detail on the examination process.
Any correspondence or queries relating to the examination process, or any matters that anyone wishes to raise with the Inspector, should be directed to the Programme Officer:
