2. Apply for a lottery registration

To apply for or renew a registration you must complete the relevant Small society lottery form below. You will also need to pay the prescribed fee for your application or renewal. Please see our fees and charges section below for further information.

Please either post the completed form to us at Licensing or hand it in to our Reception, together with a cheque or postal order payable to 'Reigate & Banstead Borough Council.' 

Lottery returns 

It is a legal requirement for you to complete and send us a  return after you have held a lottery. You must complete the Small society lottery returns form below.

Please email your completed return form to licensing@reigate-banstead.gov.uk and please state 'small lottery return' in the email subject line please. 

Can my application be refused?

We must refuse applications for registration if an Operating Licence held by the applicant has been refused or revoked in the previous five years.

We can refuse an application if we believe:

  • the applicant is not a non-commercial society.
  • any person who will, or may be, connected to the promotion of the lottery has been convicted of a relevant offence
  • the information provided in, or in support of, the application, is false or misleading.

If your application is refused you have the right to appeal against a refusal to grant or the revocation of a registration must be made to a Magistrate’s Court within 21 days of receiving notice of the decision.

For information on fees and charges please consult our licences and permit fees page. Currently we can only accept payment via cheque or postal order. We are in the process of working towards payment over the phone and online payment.
