Severe winter weather and our services

This page is about disruption to refuse collection, closed buildings and other alterations to services in the event of snow or freezing weather.

Follow our updates on Reigatebanstead Twitter and Reigate & Banstead Borough Council Facebook.

Bins4x4s picking up refuse in the snow

We will be collecting on Saturday so leave your bin out if we were unable to collect it on Friday.

Tips

Please see Community Recycling Centres (Surrey County Council website) for opening hours of tips.

Gritting

Responsibility for gritting in the borough lies with SCC and the Highways Agency. For gritting enquiries please call (SCC) on 0300 200 1003 or see Highways information online (Surrey County Council website) and Surrey travel (Twitter)

We do recognise however, that snow in the quantities we had last year is extremely difficult to cope with. Therefore, we are pleased to highlight our commitment to providing mutual aid assistance to our partners to help meet gritting demand within the borough.

We have been gritting priority areas such as town centre footpaths and council owned car parks.

Thank you

We'd like to thank those residents and businesses who clear snow around their own and neighbours properties.

Parking

We will enforce lines that are visible and are inspecting car parks.

Leisure centres

Please see the GLL individual centre websites for cancellation details and times of classes.

In the event of bad weather do call the centres to check on classes.
