Dropped kerb enforcement
This page is about how Penalty Charge Notices can now be issued to a vehicle parked across a dropped kerb.
New powers under the Traffic Management Act 2004 enable the council's Civil Enforcement Officers (Parking) to issue a Penalty Charge Notice to a vehicle parked across a dropped kerb.
Enforcement of dropped kerbs will only be carried out along very strict guidelines.
- Penalty Charge Notices will only be issued to persistent offenders and only at the request of the householder or resident. This will enable residents and their visitors to park across their own dropped kerbs without fear of receiving a ticket.
- enforcement of shared driveways will not be undertaken to avoid escalating neighbour disputes.
