Recycling record
This page explains about our recycling record.
During 2007/8 the Council
- collected 19,437 tonnes of recyclable waste
- collected 37,275 tonnes of non-recyclable waste
- therefore recycled & composted 39% of all household waste.
During 2008/09 it looks like Reigate & Banstead residents will have recycled around 40% of all household waste. We really appreciate residents taking the time to minimise the rubbish produced and recycle more often.
We need your help
The Council is striving to improve the record still further but we need your help to do this.
In some areas as many as 93% of householders recycle, in other areas the proportion is nearer 60%. The Council is working to improve this to 75% across the Borough and eventually bring it to as near to 100% as possible.
This summer we will be out and about at various community events to promote waste minimisation, re-use and recycling.
