Recycling for communal bins, flats and black sacks

This section provides links to information about recycling in Reigate & Banstead for communal bins, flats and black sacks.

The council offers a recycling service and has more than 40 recycling sites across the borough. All recycling containers must be put out by 6am on your collection day. If your collection is missed please contact the Helpline 01737 276000.

What you can recycle in your black recycling box

  • paper
  • flat packed cardboard (large boxes must be broken down to fit in the collection vehicle).

Brown wheeled bin service (annual fee applies): garden waste

Replacement recycling box

Recycling boxes are available to Borough households free of charge for a weekly collection of paper and card. You can recycle as much as you can and if you need a second box please order below.

To order a box please fill in the form on the Apply for it page or contact our Help Line.

Recycling collections are made on the same day as your refuse collection.

If you live in a flat and use a communal bin area but do not have recycling facilities then please contact us to request facilities.  We can then investigate as to the suitability of installing banks for paper, cardboard and cans.

Recycling centres

Residents can recycle the following at local recycling centres
  • paper and flat packed cardboard
  • food tins and drink cans
  • plastic bottles
  • glass bottles and jars
  • textiles and shoes
  • foil (silver and coloured)
  • books.

Not all sites can recycle all materials so please check what each recycling centre can recycle.
