Food safety
This section provides information and advice about food safety and hygiene for the public.
The council works hard to ensure that food sold in the borough is safe and will not harm us.
Our Environmental Health Officers are charged with enforcing laws relating to the production, preparation, transportation and sale of food.
Our food safety section for businesses has been designed to assist people already in a food business or those preparing to set up new businesses.
The public can also find an explanation of the processes we go through, how to complain about food bought locally and information about food poisoning.
Our Food Safety Service Plan outlines our activitity for 2011/2012. This includes our inspection programme, and details of the project-based work we carry out.
