Free environmental information
This section outlines what information about the environment in Reigate and Banstead is freely available.
Information about the environment that is freely available includes:
- Information about the Environmental Protection service provided by the Council
- Information provided by the Council in daily business
- Statutory public registers
- Electronic versions of reports produced as part of the statutory function of the Council
Information provided in daily business
Examples include processing an individual's complaint or advising on progressing an application for a industrial pollution regulation permit.
Information about individual cases is confidential. A range of forms and advice leaflets are available electronically below.

Statutory Public Registers
The Council is required to keep public registers under certain enactments.
The registers are generally accessible during normal working hours and inspection is free of charge. A charge may be levied for providing copies of information.
There are two public registers that the environmental protection team maintains
Contaminated Land
A register of the enforcement actions by the Council to remediate contaminated land (Part IIA Environmental Protection Act 1990). Note this is not a register of contaminated land.Register of industrial processes subject to industrial pollution regulation
This register is not yet available electronically. To make an appointment to view the register please contact the environmental protection team on 01737 276000. A charge may be levied for the copying of documents.
A summary list of processes is available electronically.
Electronic versions of reports produced as part of a statutory function of the environmental protection team
Examples of this include the air quality reviews produced in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act 1995.
