The role of the Local Land Charges Search
The person responsible for conveyancing will always make a search of the Local Land Charges Register.
The Local Land Charges Register is held by the council in whose area the property is situated. It is a record of local information about constraints on the use of a property and charges owed against it. There is a standard question on this search asking whether the property someone intends to purchase is entered on the public register under Part IIA.
At present our response to the question is no, because we have not commenced detailed site inspection and so have not taken any regulatory action.
For more information about searching the Local Land Charges Register go to the Local land charges page.
