Free and discounted insulation
A Surrey-wide Healthy Homes Partnership has been recently set up to offer free and discounted measures - available for only a very short period of time.
We are part of the Surrey Healthy Homes Partnership, promoting a wide range of free or subsidised warmth measures across the borough. Residents owning their own homes or living in privately-rented accommodation can get::
- free or discounted insulation for the property (cavity wall and loft)*
- a free Home Energy Survey*
- free or discounted loft clearance service.*

How much will the measures save?
Cavity wall insulation works by filling the space between the two layers of external walls, keeping in the warmth and lowering energy bills. The Energy Saving Trust estimates cavity wall insulation will save an average three-bedroom home up to £135 a year.
Loft insulation works in the same way as cavity wall but is even more effective as heat rises. Properly fitted loft insulation can save £175 per year as about a quarter of your heat is lost via the roof according to the Energy Saving Trust.
Take advantage now
Do not delay in taking advantage of this opportunity: the rules will soon be changing so it may be the last chance to install cavity wall and loft insulation at no, or little cost. The real unsubsidised price of installing both measures could be anything up to £1,000.
