Vandalism and graffiti
What to do if you have seen an act of vandalism or need to ask about the removal of graffiti in the borough.
Vandalism (Criminal Damage) is an illegal, anti-social activity that creates a negative impression of our borough and contributes to people's fear of crime.
Report it online
If you would like to report any acts of vandalism or graffiti to council property or street furniture, please contact our Help Line on 01737 276000 or use the online form on the Report it page.
We are determined to eradicate graffiti and used specialist machines to remove it. We will remove all graffiti on the highway and council buildings within 14 days. Abusive, offensive and recist graffiti will be treated as a priority and the council will remove it within 48 hours.
Private buildings
If graffiti appears on a private budiling it is the responsibility of the owner to remove it. In such cases the council will offer advice and help.
Offenders will be prosecuted.
Railway land
We are unable to remove graffiti from railway land because of trackside safety rules.
