Roadside verges
This page is about maintaining roadside verges in the borough.
We are committed to providing a clean and well-maintained environment.
We are responsible for the roadside grass cutting and shrub maintenance. We also look after all the floral displays around the borough on roundabouts, in barrier baskets and in town centre displays.
This year's grass cutting
This year's grass cutting programme started on 14 March 2011. We currently have two cutting teams that will increase to three as the season progresses.
The south grass cutting team is working through Horley, Salfords, Redhill, Woodhatch, South Park, Reigate and Merstham.
The north grass cutting team is working through from Hooley, Chipstead, Banstead, Epsom Downs, Tadworth, Tattenhams, Burgh Heath, Kingswood and Walton-on-the-Hill.
Each verge cutting cycle takes about five weeks and the teams continually cut until the end of the grass growing season in October.
