Keeping streets clear of graffiti
The Borough Council is committed to providing a safe, green and clean environment.
The Council's graffiti busting team uses specialist machines to remove graffiti.
These 'graffiti busters' are the latest and most effective means of rapidly cleaning all types of graffiti without damaging underlying surfaces.
The Council will remove all graffiti on the highway and council buildings within 14 days.
Abusive, offensive and racist graffiti will be treated as a priority and the Council will try to remove it within 48 hours.
If graffiti appears on private buildings it is the responsibility of the owner to remove it. In such cases the Council is happy to offer advice and property owners are welcome to contact us.
The Council is determined to eradicate graffiti. Our Community Wardens and Police Neighbourhood Teams patrol areas which are subjected to repeated graffiti attacks.
Offenders will be prosecuted.
If you see graffiti please tell Neighbourhood Services.
