The benefits of twinning
This section provides information on the advantages of becoming a member of Brunoy or Eschweiler association which has a twinning link with both of our twin towns.
The very best way for many people to enjoy twinning is by membership of a club or association which has a twinning link with a similar organisation in one or both of our twin towns.
If you are a member of a group which does not yet have a link, please let us know and ww will try to sort one out for you. Those who are not members of a group can join one of the organised visits which take place each year.
Twinning visitors are accommodated in the home of a host family and are expected (if possible) to offer hospitality to guests on the return visit. Many close friendships have been formed over the years, sometimes extending over several generations.
Visits include a mixture of organised activities (receptions, coach trips etc) and time spent with the host family.
The age and linguistic ability of members in all three countries is very variable, so there is no need to feel inhibited.
There are also regular fundraisng activities (wine-tastings, dinners, quizzes and more). This has the advantage of permitting members to get to know one another before going abroad.
