How the candidates were selected

Reigate and Banstead was one of 67 districts voting to elect 10 Members of the European Parliament in the South East Region.

People voted for parties, not candidates. The total number of votes was aggregated for the 67 districts and a formula will be used to determine how many candidates from each party are elected.

Parties nominated their candidates in an order. If a party was awarded one seat, therefore, the first candidate on their list would be elected. If they were awarded two seats, the first two candidates on their list would be elected, and so on.
