Membership
Councillors M.G. Ormerod (Chairman), R.M. Bennett, N.D. Harrison, S.A. Kulka, A.R. Mountney and T.D. Stoddart.
Remit of the Panel
The Panel has been established to examine whether:
- the IEG programme is delivering value for money;
- the IEG priorities accord with the Council's priorities and are achievable in the time frame established; and
- the direction of travel is focussed in the appropriate areas to achieve maximum benefit for the public and the Council.
Current position
The Panel was established by the Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 2 March 2005 when the above remit was agreed. The Panel requested the following information to be considered at its first meeting:
- a copy of the IEG submission and any response received from the Government;
- a presentation on the implementation of the IEG programme;
- an indication of the overriding principles that guide decisions related to the availability of electronic information; and
- details of the Best Value (B.V.) Performance Indicator (P.I.) 157 and an opportunity to discuss whether other PI’s should be established to monitor the implementation of the IEG programme and the benefits arising.
The Panel has now concluded its work and sent its final report to the Executive.
