Sustainable Community Strategy
A plan which aims to enhance the quality of life of local communities through action to improve the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the area and its residents.
Local Strategic Partnership
A multi-agency partnership which brings together the different parts of the public, private, community and voluntary sectors in the Borough to deliver the Sustainable Community Strategy.
Local Area Agreement
A three year agreement that sets out the priorities for the area agreed between central government and a local area. The Agreement is negotiated on behalf of all Local Authorities in Surrey by the County Council.
Local Development Framework
A set of documents that set out the long term planning policies for the area.
Recycling Blueprint
A policy developed by the Council to guide the achievement of 60% recycling over the next three years.
Local Carbon Reduction Fund
A fund managed by RBBC which collects income from developers, businesses and individuals to spend on sustainable energy projects.
Gatwick Diamond
An economic area which has Gatwick airport as its hub.
Green Flag Status
This is a national scheme which measures the facilities available and the management of public parks.
New Growth Points
A government initiative which provides financial support for the infrastructure requirements associated with new housing in areas of growth.
Section 106 Agreement and contributions
Facilities or monies paid to the local authority to support the provision of development.
