The Mayor, Councillor Richard Mantle, announced the winners of this year's Community Awards at a ceremony held at the Town Hall on Tuesday 17 November 2009.
The Mayor was delighted that so many organisations put forward nominations and the Awards Panel's decision meant that the following stalwarts of the Borough received an Award at the ceremony.
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to the organisations who made nominations this year.
Young Volunteer Award

- Margaret Bloomfield, Age Concern Banstead, overall winner in this category
- Maureen Hooker, St. Catherine's Hospice

- John Wilson, Samaritans (awarded posthumously)
- John Marchant, St John's Ambulance

Outstanding Award
Jean and Frank Pullen, Walton Health Sports Club (awarded posthumously to Frank Pullen).
