Local Area Capital Grants
This page provides information on Local Area Capital Grants - Redhill and Merstham. The scheme was introduced in 2010 to distribute funds secured by the council to support the development of community facilities within the local area around Watercolour, Redhill.
We are using our existing capital grants scheme as a model for distributing the £360,000 funds we have secured, and we are now inviting interested parties from the Redhill and Merstham area to bid for this funding.
The funds are restricted to capital projects that provide community facilities which benefit the residents of the local area. £180,000 of the available funding is intended to be used to support the Merstham Community Hub proposal.
Eligibility
The test of whether a project would be eligible is that it should either create a new asset for the local community or substantially enhance an existing one. The project should also be based in WaterColour or the local area surrounding it.
Local area capital grants are likely to be higher in value than many other grants that the council award. As a result somewhat different arrangements apply to the application process.
Applications should not be less than £5,000, and due to the restrictions on funding, all projects should be capable of being completed within five years.
If you are interested in applying for a Local Area Capital Grant you will need to complete an application form. The application pack includes a full copy of the explanatory notes for completing the form. Both of these documents can be dowloaded below.
