Ambient Noise Survey
This section provides information about an Ambient Noise Survey
Consultation overview
1000 residents within the Borough were interviewed, to find out their views about ambient noise in the Borough and of the service they would like the council to provide. The survey is seen as an important research opportunity and is being entirely funded by the Department of Environment Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) in central government.
Who consulted?
MORI on behalf of Reigate and Banstead Borough Council. MORI contracted Facts International Ltd to complete the interviews.
Why did we consult?
To identify where we need to improve the services we provide and to gain an understanding of the priority residents give to issues which need to be tackled.
Who did we consult?
1000 residents who live within the Borough. These residents were randomly selected throughout the Borough.
When did the consultation take place?
The consultation took place from March to June 2005.
What will we do with the results?
The results will be used to inform the Council in setting its priorities for its Noise Strategy so we can focus on what is important to residents. The information will also be used by central government to inform developments in national noise policy.
