This section provides information about a public consultation for proposed modification to the Local Plan.

Consultation overview

We consulted on proposed modifications to the local plan which was adopted in 1994.

The Local Plan is a development plan setting our the Council’s policies and proposals for building development and land use in the Borough.

The proposals modifications will provide a framework for future planning decisions in the Borough, including the building of 2,600 new homes in Horley.

Why did we consult?

It is a statutory requirement for a local authority to consult the public before adopting proposed modifications to the Local Plan.

The Borough Council also believes it is important for the community to be able to express their views over proposed changes to a key document in the future development of the area.

Who was consulted?

The public was invited to comment and can take part in the consultation on this website. Local groups, individuals and members of the commercial sector we also consulted who had expressed a view on issues involving the Local Plan in the past.
