Local Community Action Plans

We employ a Community Liaison team to help residents have a bigger say in what happens in their neighbourhood.
Borough Councillors, supported by Community Liaison officers, are working closely with local communities to draw up Local Community Action Plans (LCAPs).
The idea is for local people's hopes and aspirations to inform the plans, which will be used to guide Council policy in the future.
Partner organisations such as the County Council, the Police, Health Service and many more will also feed into the plans, and use them to help decision-making.
Ward councillors take the lead in preparing the plans for their respective areas, which are drawn up following extensive consultation with local residents, businesses and voluntary organisations.
We are determined to ensure processes are kept as simple as possible, with a clear emphasis on action.
In many cases the issues and problems will be in relation to day-to-day service delivery and this initiative should help us to resolve matters more swiftly than ever before.
